Mike very impressive for a 327 man!

Just wondering (not trying to take away from your car or anything, just wondering for my own future) how streetable your car is? how often you street drive it, or is it a strictly strip car? I remember you told me you have a 200 4R in there a while back.

it runs on 91 octane. it gets driven all the time in good weather. i don't take it out in rain/snow. i drive to work all the time with it. i'd call it a summer time daily driver. i cruise at 1900 rpm on the highway in lockup. it idles at 950 rpm. it gets half decent mileage, havent measured it yet, but i havent tuned it yet either, for mileage, with the new cam. it used to get 20 mpg with the old cam and a different carburetor. im focusing on track numbers right now, then i will worry about part throttle.

to be honest its only a tad "less streetable" with the new cam over the hydraulic. nothing to worry about. i race it about 12 times a year. i'd like to race it more, but ive been making so many changes the last couple years sometimes the car just isn't ready. i will bracket race it finally next year.

I don't think you'll get a day better than that without snow.

I think you'll have a good 12.25-30 car through the summer. That's still really good for a street drivable 327.

I agree

We went 12.80's a little heavier car with a Q-Jet, GM intake and hyd cam. It was drivable.

I dont know what it ran with the solid cam (244/252 @.050 518/536 106) similar to Mikes, We had 1.94 double humps so i bet it would have went 12.50's then with the solid

Mike, do you have a single plane intake?

Mike, looks like it moved around on the 1-2 gear change very little in the video ,,, Did it?

We used to do that, it was driver error. Everytime it was shifted the car would move, what happened was the wheel in the left hand a little too tight and the right arm shifting pulls the wheel a little

Real fast cars down in the 10's and all you have to be carefull

no i have an rpm air gap. i am going to put a super victor on it eventually. i might try 1.6 rockers too to give my heads a little more lift. i have a few things to try and a few aces up my sleeve. i'll get it to the track again at least once more this year.

to be honest, i was gripping the wheel tight. first pass with the new tires and i didn't know what it was going to do. my shifts sucked, i overreved a few times and "felt" just about all the shifts like u said. i need to get more consistant.

What I saw though Mike is like you were holding the wheel tight then as you moved the shifter your body moved pulling the wheel making the car move during the gear change, I didnt see it on the 2-3 but hey I cant see that far away in the video

Mike do you have a single plane?

If you plan on trying one during the spring I have one you can borrow for a short time before you spend $$ on one

If that helps, let me know

EDIT: It may not leave as hard but it will pull harder, My guess would be a loss of ET but your welcome to try it
