Proper way to remove a door? Take the pins out?

I?m working on a 71 SS and just rebuilt the hinges and hung the passenger door in preparation to replace the 1/4. Everything is lined up great. I?d like to keep it that and was thinking I could remove just the pins. For the lower I?d have to remove the spring and detent roller which is new and easy to pop out. The passenger upper hinge needs to have the pin installed from the bottom to allow it to be removed while on the door. The pins go in hard and come out hard so I wonder if it?s worth it. Or if I?ll wear out the pins with a few In and outs. Keeping the hinges in place would allow the door to install quicker and not need to be realigned once painted... right?

Why do you want to remove the doors again? You need them on there to replace the 1/4 panels. If you have to remove them the best way is to have the front fenders off, drill a 1/8 hole in the hinge through the hinge pillar and remove the 6 bolts from the hinge pillar, you can use that hole to realign the door when you put it back on.
