I briefly looked from top down and looks like I will have to at the least move one of the headers to get the TH350 out and the 200r4 in position, I have long tube headers, has anyone done this with out removing headers or losing and repositioning one side or both? I have not issue or questions removing and installing, just the header issue maybe, and once the 12 bolt gets here the transmission will already be setup, I plan on doing this maybe this weekend weather permitting in CT Garage is cold, not like Puerto Rico where I can work on it all year long :)

IMHO ...its easier now to loosen/remove one or both headers before you have the trans precariously balanced on a jack in the way ...just sayin...

If you have a transmission jack with tilting top (like this: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/sxt-7750b) it's easy to do (I just did it - twice - to replace my torque converter and then the whole trans.)

What I did was get it all unbolted and up in the tunnel. Then you just tilt the trans sideways as far as it will go and lower it down. Tilting it sideways allows the bellhousing ears to clear the headers.

In and out was a piece of cake with the right type of jack - didn't have to do a thing to the exhaust and left it fully bolted up.

Balancing it on a floor jack - well, yeah, start pulling the headers.

Decided to put it up on all fours and get under as it is raining here so figured might as well do it now can’t take the car out, yes the headers would be in the way, and I do have transmission jack I bought on sale some months ago not as young as I used to be pushing them up from my chest those were the days 😂😂 and it does tilt, if I need to I will loosen the headers, plan on starting tomorrow during breaks since I work remote from home when not traveling

I cut the ears off the trans so it clears, but I don't use the cover.

I have had to remove my Turbo 400 more times than I like to remember - not one time did I loosen or remove a header. I just use about a 12" square piece of plywood on my floor jack saddle/cup. When I gets down to the headers, I just maneuver it past them - pretty easy.

Transmission in anybody with 67 and changed to 200r4 what did you do for dip stick can’t seem to get the one from the th350 in right position to go in, also the 350 had a vacuum the 200r4 doesn’t do I just plug the distributor vacuum advance?

I got a new locking dipstick made for a 2004r (they are about $30) and some are called universal where you cut them to length. I never even tried my th350 dipstick it was so far off. Make sure you set the depth properly - the full mark when warm is right at the pan gasket level.

Plug the vacuum line that went to the transmission - but don't plug your vacuum advance, leave that alone.

Okay had to order Lokar dip stick and shifter ACA 1800 bar in order to connect to column shifter as unable to get to park, TV cable connected and transmission pressure gauge connected and ready to test once everything is together also have to connect the lines to the cooler and splice in temp gauge should be ready for Sunday Cruise if all goes well
